Applied Business Studies
This
qualification has been designed to provide knowledge and understanding of
Business through actively experiencing the Business environment. Therefore a
wide variety of approaches are used in the teaching of this subject, ranging
through, links with employers, case studies and research.

This course is suitable
for applicants who want to:

Study a business course which
places a great deal of emphasis on coursework

Set up and run their own

Study all aspects of business
activity through investigation of real business situations
What does the course
consist of?
Applied Business Studies has a practical nature and there is a strong
emphasis on the development of investigation skills and use of IT.
You will complete a series of coursework investigations into a range of
business activities, using evidence collected from real business
organisations.
Course work details:
Up to two thirds of the course will be internally assessed through a
programme of assignments set and marked by your teachers. At least one third
of the course will be externally assessed through external examination and
case study work.
The Single Award is made up of 6 units delivered over two years and is the
equivalent of one A Level.
What are the entry
requirements?
At least 5 A* to C passes at GCSE
It is not necessary to have studied Business previously
