Why Stay On?
The Sixth Form is an important period of preparation for the next stage of your life and the decisions you make now will affect the choices and opportunities open to you later.

All four schools in the Southern Consortium offer you the best start to any future career, be it employment or higher education, by combining the guidance and support of teachers who already know you with the chance to study a wide range of new and interesting subjects. Students entering the Sixth Form leave as young men and women, with a higher level of qualifications and more social, personal and work related skills than when they entered it.
Reasons for helping you decide to continue your education will vary, depending upon the personal needs of the individual. It is likely, however that reasons for continuing your education include one or more of the following:
You already have set your sights on a particular career and know that higher qualifications, such as 'A' Levels or Advanced Vocational Subjects are required before you can start.
You have ambitions of eventually going to a University or College of Further or Higher Education.
Although you would prefer to start a job you have been unable to find one and so will continue with your studies to improve your career opportunities.
You are uncertain about the type of employment you would like to obtain and would like extra time to think about your future, whilst at the same time following a course of study that will broaden your career opportunities.
You really do not feel ready to leave and find a job and would prefer to stay at school for a further year so as to sort out your ideas for the future and gain more qualifications.
