BTEC National Diploma in ICT

Who is this BTEC for?

The Level 3 BTEC Nationals for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support) have been developed in the areas of Computing and IT Systems and focus on: education and training for IT practitioners who are employed in a variety of types of technical work, such as systems support, analysis and design, software testing, network administration, education and training etc.

They are also for full-time learners to gain a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enter employment as an IT practitioner or progress to higher education vocational qualifications.

Unit Combinations

For the BTEC National Certificate the candidate is required to complete all six core units four compulsory specialist units and a further two specialist units.

For the BTEC National Diploma the candidate is required to complete all six core units, four compulsory specialist units and a further eight specialist units.

For the BTEC National Award the candidate is required to complete all three core units, two compulsory specialist units and a further one specialist unit.
