BTEC NATIONAL AWARD IN MUSIC
TECHNOLOGY (Music for Media)
(Equivalent to one A-level)
The BTEC National Award Music Technology (Music for Media) course is a course aimed at students who love music and enjoy creating and recording it. It also includes opportunities to work in the area of audio/visual creating music for film and multimedia.
You do not have to play an instrument but do have to have a musical ear and be passionate about developing your musical ideas and those of others.

Studio Production Project
Each unit requires a portfolio of studio and studio based recordings, notes and evaluations. Although there is no exam, pupils are assessed throughout the course.
This course gives you the opportunity to develop as a producer, giving a wide range of opportunities to use recording equipment and recording studio environments.

Course Requirements:
To access this course, you must have a passion for Music Technology, some experience of using music software and/or experience of using recording equipment.
The sixth form AS Level entry requirements will also have to be met.
Progression Opportunities:
This course gives you access to higher education in the Music Technology and Pop Music courses. It is also a excellent preparation for careers in Teaching, Media, Publishing, working as a Technician, working in a Recording Studio
