APPLIED ART DOUBLE AWARD
(2 year course. 12 lessons each week)
The course is a double A Level and is suited to students who have a firm commitment to Art & Design and have a proven track record in the subject. The course will lead directly to Art School, or employment within the Art & Design sector. This is achieved by ensuring that students develop general skills and present high quality work in all the units covered.

The aims of the course are:-
To acquire the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding, as well as language, needed to create, develop and present high quality work.
To understand art and design methods and principles.
Use primary and secondary sources.
Understand how creative focuses are inter-related and influence each other, and explore working methods linked to industry practice.
To apply working methods used by sector professionals, both as individuals and as part of a team, as well as with clients, commissioners and audiences.
To independently explore how meaning is communicated through creative and reflective experimentation with media and materials..
To develop ways of working that emphasise practical independence, self-directed learning and how to improve practice over time.
Entry Requirements
You should have GCSE in Art and Design grade C , plus four other GCSE’s grade C .
