Young people at The Sydney Russell School making a difference by supporting local charities
Students from The Sydney Russell School have been tackling social issues by supporting local charities as part of a Programme provided by educational charity First Give.
Year 12 students have engaged in direct social action in support of their chosen charities. At the School Final, The Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, the Mayoress of Barking and Dagenham along with other esteemed judges such as Ms. Davies Principal of Sydney Russell decided which class would be awarded a £1,000 grant for their charity.
The winning group were supporting GAV (growing against violence) which deals with gang violence among the youth. Well done Michael Tucker, Darrin Way, Sade Walters and Tyrone Smith and all who took part.
