BTEC Hospitality and Catering First Diploma Level 2 @ EB
Over the past five years, employment in the hospitality sector has increased faster than for the economy overall. The BTEC Nationals encourage the acquisition and development of the skills required by employers to fill the vacancies for this growth area. The courses have been structured to allow learners to gain a wide range of skills from across the industry.
Level 2 course BTEC First Diploma in Hospitality
On successful completion of the course it is equivalent to four GCSE passes at Grade C. Progression can lead to level 3 courses and employment within the industry. Students study six units that include, Exploring the Hospitality Industry, Customer Care in Hospitality, Safety in Hospitality, Planning and Running an event, Basic Culinary skills and serving Food and Drink. As part of the course students organise and run events within the school, they also go on trips to industry and complete two weeks of work experience in the industry.
