Level 1 Foundation English ESOL @DP
(ESOL) English for speaker of other languages.
ESOL Course The ESOL course is aimed at 16+ students who have no or very little English. The course is based on skills for life and is taught towards the Cambridge Certificate.
The students learn all the language arts:
- Reading
- Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
It is a one year course that involves ten periods a week. The students are offered additional GCSE maths.
At the end of the year the students are entered for the Cambridge exam, this then progresses to Level 1 and BTEC National courses.
Requirements are a good attendance record.
