Further Mathematics is highly desirable for those taking normal maths A level who wish to study maths or a maths-related degree at university.  It should be considered by anyone with an A or A* at GCSE.  It largely covers separate topics to those in the A-level including the high level work of matrices and imaginary numbers.  It will benefit the work of A level maths through the additional practice it provides although it does count as a separate A-level qualification.

Skills you will develop include:

·         A logical approach to problem solving at a higher level than Mathematics A level.

·        The ability to work with the abstract but apply this knowledge to give real results
