AS Performance Studies @ EB
The course aims to establish an approach to the performing arts which uses a wide range of subjects and skills that can be linked to performance. If you enjoy being on the stage, this could be for you! It will particularly suit students who wish to develop the qualities of imagination sensitivity and artistic knowledge and link it to the art forms dance, drama and music.
The Course
There are three units at AS and are divided into one coursework unit, one practical performance and one written examination.
The work will involve making up your own original piece of work alongside performing an exiting repertoire from artists who have or are performing today. Finally, there will be a study of the genres that make up the wide variety of the performing arts.
At A2 there are three further units which are made up in the same way and build on the understanding and skills from the AS level.
Where can this course take me?
This course is ideal preparation for a wide variety of performing arts related degree courses and would also be an ideal different choice at AS level to show a wider variety of skills to your other three subjects. If you plan to go straight into employment the skills and knowledge gained in this course would show employers your confidence skills and ability to develop and perform your own ideas.
